Nicaragua
July 2006

I was able to squeeze in a (surf) trip the Southern Pacific coast of Nicaragua for a couple of days in early July with Brent, Mike Poli, and Chris Jones. We flew into Liberia Costa Rica, making our way across the boarder into Nicaragua and the Southwestern Pacific coast town of San Juan del Sur. After a relaxing evening in town, we made our way to playa Majagual 12 km north of San Juan del Sur for surfing, snorkeling and fun on the beach. As always, it was nice to check in with the long term backpacker crowd, hearing amazing travel stories from around the world. Mixed in with the backpacker crowd was the 'cool guy' surfer scene, which can be a bit intimidating as a 'non-cool-surfer-guy'. A good time was had by all with the help of the national rum infused drink, the 'Nico-Loco'. |
